Israel Adesanya is just a month away from his rematch against Robert Whittaker at UFC 271. ‘The Last Stylebender’ has been in rich vein of form and has cleared the middleweight to an extent – he is set to face ‘The Reaper’ once again.
Having gained a name for himself in kickboxing, Adesanya made his UFC debut in early 2018. Very soon he became the interim middleweight champion (in a year).
This got him to challenge for the undisputed title. At UFC 243 in October 2019, Izzy faced Whittaker in his own backyard – Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, Australia.
In only the second round, Adesanya beat Whittaker via. a brutal KO to become the middleweight champion.
Since then he has defended his title thrice.
In a recent Tweet, Adesanya expressed his desire to fight in Australia once again before retirement.
His Tweet read:
“I wanna fight in Aussie one more time before I call it quits.”
