Israel Adesanya vs Marvin Vettori headlines this weekend’s UFC 263
Adesanya went in on Marvin Vettori at the UFC 263 pre-fight press conference, even as an irate Vettori went livid with rage.
With the fight just a couple of days away, the pre-fight presser took place yesterday with the crowd in attendance.
Adesanya, Vettori, Deiveson Figueiredo, Brandon Moreno, Leon Edwards and Nate Diaz attended the event.
‘The Last Stylebender’ made sure that there was enough bad blood going into his title fight on Saturday night, as he coolly did all he could, to irritate the Italian.
There was a moment at the press conference where Izzy kept shouting “Roid Rage, Roid Rage” at Vettori.
This didn’t sit well with Vettori as he went out of control, hurling bottles at Adesanya, only for him to be controlled by the security guards.
These were Adesanya’s comments:
“What’s he gonna do…Try it again…try me again. Look at him, you know what that’s called, that’s called roid rage. That’s called roid rage. Try me again, that ain’t caffeine, that’s roid rage b*tch.”
Marvin Vettori will be looking forward to using his ground-game to perfection
If there is some area where Izzy lacks, it has to be ‘on the ground’. It was quite evident in his first loss in his career, against Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259. It was the Pole’s ground control in the later rounds that earned him a unanimous decision victory.
Now, Vettori’s fighting style is quite similar as well. Though he has a dynamite in his hands, they have never been his strong point. Even in his last fight against Kevin Holland in April, this year, he executed a stunning 11 takedowns (a middleweight record).
The Italian Dream will be looking forward to doing exactly that, come the 12th of June.
