Fau Vake is a 25-year old up and coming MMA fighter from New Zealand.
Israel Adesanya and other teammates at the City Kickboxing gym in Auckland were left devastated after a brutal assault on fellow teammate Fau Vake.
Vake is a 25-year old MMA fighter, who recently made his switch from kickboxing to mixed martial arts. He has a record of 2-0 in his professional MMA career.
He was attacked by four unknown men in the early hours of Sunday in Auckland. According to a report from Newshub New Zealand, a brawl broke out after a local MMA card.
In what is described as a ‘coward punch’, Vake was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition following which he fell into a coma.
In the wake of this ‘Stuff’ had blatantly misreported that Vake had died following the attack. Adesanya was enraged with the ‘fake news’ as he took to Twitter to blast ‘NZ Stuff’, before going on to provide an update that Vake was alive and fighting.
Adesanya wrote, ripping into ‘Stuff’:
“Farking idiot muppets just salivating at any chance of bad news. Shame on you. Bloodclat vampires go suck your mada!”
Adesanya then wrote:
“Fau is alive and still fighting!!! Please please pray for him.”
UFC lightweight Dan Hooker who is also a Kiwi and trains at the City Kickboxing Gym in Auckland, was left saddened by the nasty incident.
He posted a message on Instagram saying Vake “is a true fighter” and “continue to fight”.
Hangman wrote:
“Winning in a ring doesn’t make you a fighter. What makes a fighter is regardless of the odds you continue to persevere. Fau is a true fighter, its in his blood. He will continue to fight. Vake Family Forever.”
It is worth noting that Fau Vake also has a young daughter. Hope Vake recovers soon! Prayers up!
