Conor McGregor launched an unprovoked assault on Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti last week in Rome
Italian DJ Francesco Facchinetti and his lawyer have officially filed charges against Conor McGregor following the Irishman’s unprovoked assault on Facchinetti in Rome, last week.
McGregor who had arrived in Rome for the baptism of his son and delivery of his Lamborghini yacht, had partied with Facchinetti at St. Regis Hotel.
After almost 2 hours of partying, McGregor punched Facchinetti in the face, leaving him with injuries.
Facchinetti later issued a statement revealing how dangerous McGregor was while also detailing the horrific aftermath of the incident.
And now, he has gone ahead with filing charges, after the attack had left him concussed. According to CNN, Fachinetti had proceeded with the same after discussion with his wife and friends.
In an interview with CNN, Fachinetti said:
“He is dangerous. He needs to be stopped.”
McGregor’s team is yet to respond to the charges filed.
Following an ankle injury against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July, this year, Conor McGregor underwent surgery.
He was slapped with a 6-month medical suspension.
Starting from the 10th of July, it is set to extend until the second week of January. The Irishman is expected to challenge Dustin Poirier once again in a quadrilogy fight.
A fight against his old rival Nate Diaz also remains a possibility.
