To further its long-term goals in North America, La Liga has partnered with one of the most well-known sports brands. Both the UFC and the Spanish soccer league will benefit from this partnership. In light of this news, an old video of UFC president Dana White denigrating the sport has surfaced on the internet.

Since both the UFC and La Liga are flagship properties on ESPN+, negotiations between the two were initially entertained. While UFC’s five-year, $1.5 billion deal with the league began in 2018, ESPN’s eight-year, $1.4 billion deal begins in 2021 and was recently extended by two years.

Speaking in a past interview with The Calgary Sun, White claimed that while he does not follow hockey, he respects the sport. On the other hand, he labelled football athletes “untalented”:

“I’m not a big hockey fan. But I respect how talented you have to be to play hockey. Soccer? That’s a whole other ball. Can’t stand soccer. It’s the least-talented sport on Earth. There’s a reason three-year-olds can play soccer. When you’re playing a game when the net is that big and the score is 3-1 and that’s a blowout, are you kidding me? You know how untalented you have to be to score three times when the net is that big?”

Jake Paul has taken aim at Dana White in the wake of allegations that insiders have been manipulating fights in order to profit from them in sportsbooks. Because of the frequency with which he has been required to refute allegations that his boxing fights are fixed, it should come as no surprise that he seized the opportunity to respond negatively to Dana White and the promotion:

Paul took to Twitter to react to the news of MMA coach James Krause being banned from the UFC:

“Remember when Dana White and UFC fighters like Colby Cunnington tried to claim my Askren KO was rigged…Ironic isn’t it that the Ontario Gaming Commission believe UFC insiders are rigging fights.”
