Jack Hermansson feels nobody comes close to him when it comes to fishing
Hermansson is all set to face ‘The Golden Boy’ Edmen Shahbazyan at UFC Fight Night: Garbrandt vs Font. The Joker is currently ranked number 7 in the middleweight rankings, and has all chances of moving into the top 5 if he manages to win here.
An avid fisherman by birth, Hermansson recently weighed in on the ‘fishing argument’ between Conor McGregor, Gregor Gillespie and others.
It all started when Gillespie self-proclaimed to be the best fisherman in the UFC at the post-fight interview after beating Carlos Diego Ferreira recently.
McGregor then joined in. The Irishman took to Twitter posting a series of pictures of himself fishing, refuting Gillespie’s claims.
In fact the debate still rages on.
Hermansson weighed in on the fishing debate in a recent interview with the Schmo. Addressing himself in third person as ‘The Joker’, Hermansson said:
“The Joker has been fishing since he was a kid. He has fishing as his main interest outside of MMA. As soon as the Joker has anytime over, he goes to do some fishing. So, the Joker is the best fisherman in the MMA and if somebody is not agreeing with that, they can come and do a fish-off with me.”
Hermansson fought Marvin Vettori in a bloodshed battle at UFC on ESPN last December. Had he won the fight he might have even been fighting the undisputed Israel Adesanya at UFC 263.
Adesanya, on the other hand, was handed the first loss in his MMA career, when he decided to move up a weight class and fight Jan Blachowicz at UFC 259.
Speaking to the Schmo, Hermansson claimed that he regretted not being the first man to defeat Israel Adesanya.
“I was hoping to be the person to beat him for the first time. Unfortunately, he got his first loss in another weight class.”
