Jake Paul sets time frame for Conor McGregor boxing match after Ben Askren battle

YouTube sensation and professional boxer Jake Paul believes a boxing match with Conor McGregor will go down soon.

Jake Paul is just a day away from his third professional boxing bout. He will be taking on a professional fighter for the first time in Ben Askren.

The former UFC star will be making his pro-boxing debut. The fight will be held at Mercedes-Bank Arena in Atlanta, Georgia under Triller productions.

Prior to getting his bout against Ben Askren scheduled, ‘The Problem Child’ had called out a plethora of UFC fighters, notably Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

And, Paul had been extremely vociferous and disrespectful during his string of callouts aimed at the Irishman.

McGregor already made his professional boxing debut; which he did when he took on boxing great Floyd Mayweather in August 2017 (losing via TKO in the 10th round). Paul felt that repeatedly firing shots at ‘The Notorious’ would earn him a shot at a boxing match.

But, McGregor never responded, as he was waiting to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. However, during his mini-retirement last year, McGregor had been very vocal about fighting boxing great Manny Pacquiao, which might still be on the cards.

However, The YouTube star still believes that a boxing bout with ‘The Irishman’ will go down within 2 years.

Speaking in an interview with MMA Fighting, Paul claimed that ‘Mystic Mac’ wouldn’t stand a chance against ‘The PacMan’ and that he should fight him (Paul) instead.

‘The Problem Child’ said:

“I think we both are on a road to each other. He wants another boxing fight. He wants to fight Manny Pacquiao, he would get toasted, he just keeps on taking Ls. So I think him fighting me would not only be his money fight, but it would technically be the easiest challenge, right? Fighting Jake Paul would probably be easier than fighting Manny Pacquiao and it would be just as big.”

Paul then divulged that a fight against McGregor is a lot closer than anyone ever thinks:

He was quoted as saying:

“I think we’re a lot closer to a Jake Paul-Conor McGregor fight than anyone thinks. I think it could happen in the next 24 months.”

Jake Paul tried everything he could to lure McGregor for a boxing match

Once Jake Paul beat Nate Robinson in November via. a vicious knockout in the second round, his confidence hit the roof. Just a few days later, he began his truckload of callouts.

That was when the former Disney star posted a video dressed up like McGregor holding an Irish flag, taking shots at the Notorious’ wife and offering him a jaw-dropping $50million to take him on in a boxing match.

Paul also slammed UFC President Dana White in the video, since the UFC Boss has always been critical of the Paul brothers taking up combat sports.

The YouTube star didn’t stop there, as he repeatedly tagged McGregor in his tweets, before it stopped momentarily since he (Paul) was booked to fight Askren.
