Ben Askren gives his prediction against Jake Paul and says it will be a seventh-round TKO.
Jake Paul does not agree with the prediction given by Ben Askren for their boxing match
As we know by now, the boxing match between Ben Askren and Jake Paul will be fought on April 17, 2021.
The fight, which will be found under the Triller Fight Club banner, will be the main event of the PPV. The match-card, or the location of the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
Askren, an expert wrestler, even gave his prediction for his fight against Paul. Funky believes that the fight will be a 7th-round knockout in favour of the former Bellator welterweight champion.
With egos and reputations on the line, there was no way Paul would agree to this. And that’s exactly what happened.
The YouTuber-turned-professional-boxer was asked in an interview by ESPN MMA on YouTube if he agrees with Askren’s prediction.
He laughed it off and said that Askren would probably not even hit him. Askren is not known for his boxing in the MMA world, which is what Paul made fun of at the beginning of his response.
“Google Ben Askren striking. That’s my response. It’s not going to go that long. I don’t even think he’ll even hit me.”
He then stated that he was never hit in the face in his past two fights, and that it won’t change now.
“I haven’t been hit one time in the face in my past two fights. So I haven’t even been punched as a professional boxer.”
Well, Nate Robinson and AnEsonGib were not quite One Championship and Bellator welterweight champions. Nevertheless, it’s good seeing the sparks fly out so early on.
With less than 3 months left, Askren would know that he has to take this seriously. This will be his first fight since his hip surgery which made him stop fighting in UFC.
