Talks of a Jake Paul vs Conor McGregor fight was first brought up by the YouTuber back in late 2020
Jake Paul is a fortnight away from his big night against Tyron Woodley. The YouTuber-turned-professional boxer is set to take on UFC’s newly-released former welterweight champ in a pro-boxing match.
The fight is set to take place on the 29th of August at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
With the fight inching closer, Paul sat down for a long interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn.
When Bohn brought up the idea of Paul boxing UFC welterweight Nate Diaz in the future, ‘The Problem Child’ claimed that he was ready for the fight “right now”.
He then went on to say that a fight against Nate Diaz would be tenfold better than taking on a “Drunk Conor McGregor.”
Paul was quoted as saying:
“I have no idea if that’s his intention, you know. I think that’s a huge fight between us and I’m ready for that, any time, anyone, any place. But yeah, I think Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul, you know, is probably more interesting than a Jake Paul versus drunk Conor McGregor fight right now.”
Jake Paul invites Olympians from Ohio to his fight against Tyron Woodley
Ohio native Jake Paul was awe-struck by athletes from Ohio dominating the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
In order to honour them, Paul announced on Twitter that he would be inviting all the 14 athletes from Ohio who took part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
His tweet read:
“I’m excited to announce that @showtimeboxing and I are extending an invite to my Aug 29th fight to all of the 14 women and men from Ohio who represented us in the Tokyo Olympics. Would be an honor to fight in front of all of you.”
Paul then mentioned the greatness of Ohio:
“14 Olympians, and 6 of them medaled! That’s 43%. Overall USA sent 657 Athletes overall and won 113 medals… 17%.. There’s clearly something different in that Ohio water / milk Need to send more Ohioans to the Olympics.”
