Jake Paul weighs in on Nate Diaz’s UFC release request

Jake Paul had called out Nate Diaz previously but seems to be on the UFC star’s side now

Nate Diaz recently requested the UFC for a release and he got support from a surprising source.

Diaz, who last fought Leon Edwards in June 2021, is on the final fight of his UFC contract. The Stockton star has spoken about possibly fighting Dustin Poirier in the future, but no headway has been made on that.

Diaz then took matters to his own hands and requested a release from the UFC. His tweet also tagged Dana White, the UFC president. However, no response has come in from the promotion.

Paul, who has called out Diaz and other UFC stars such as Conor McGregor in the past, had a short message regarding this request.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer just wanted the UFC to free Diaz.

Will there be a Jake Paul vs Nate Diaz match?

Paul has spoken about taking on another UFC star after his two wins over former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley.

Diaz vs Paul could be a fight that really gets the crowd in. However, that depends on Diaz wanting to take the fight.

It is difficult to see the UFC star leave the promotion and then decide to get into a boxing match with someone like Paul. Diaz is someone who wants to take a real challenge and that might come from Paul, even though the YouTuber is 5-0 in his career.

Further, he has four stoppages in his short boxing career. Diaz would certainly make bank from his fight against Paul. However, this saga of calling the UFC out could be a ploy to seal a better deal and extend his stay in the organisation.
