Jamahal Hill suffered a first round loss against Paul Craig at UFC 263
Jamahal Hill and Paul Craig kicked off a stacked UFC 263 main card at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona last week.
Just two minutes into the first round, Craig executed a sudden and perfect armbar on Hill, which caused his arm to dislocate and flop around like a rubber arm.
No sooner did the referee see this (very late, to be honest), than he stopped the fight, awarding the fight to Craig due to TKO (injury).
A distraught Hill was showing no signs of pain. All his face reflected was disappointment due to the loss.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Hill gave further updates about his injury. He revealed that his elbow had dislocated quite badly, and it had been popped back in. ‘Sweet Dreams’ vowed to make a come back soon.
鈥淚t鈥檚 not as bad as it looked. There鈥檚 no break. My elbow just dislocated pretty badly but they were able to pop it back in and the doctor said it鈥檚 rock solid. And, it鈥檚 doing all the movement that it needs to, it鈥檚 just going to be sore for a while. I’ma follow up with my doctor when I land back at home and we鈥檙e gonna go from there. Hopefully, I can be back in real soon.”
Has Paul Craig ended the Jamahal Hill hype-train?
Hill came into the fight against Craig with no losses on his record. He was 8-0 in his MMA career, and 2-0 in the UFC. He had already broken into the top 15 of the light-heavyweight rankings.
Hill was tipped to be the next Jon Jones. But, in the unexpected of moments, his elbow popped causing the first ever defeat in his career.
However, he can still bounce back. It is not that he was finished brutally, it was just that his arm popped at the wrong time.
‘Sweet Dreams’ still has a long way to go.
