James Krause picked up a unanimous win over Claudio Silva but he was far from 100% fit

James Krause all the problems he faced before he fought Claudio Silva at UFC Fight Island 6.

The 34-year-old American was a short-notice replacement for Muslim Salikhov to take on the Brazilian.

Silva came into this fight with a record of 14 wins and one loss. That loss came in his first MMA fight and he had won his next 14 clashes.

Silva would have been the favourite for this fight, given the circumstances Krause had to face. However, the American put on quite a performance and got the unanimous win after three gruelling rounds.

Krause posted several photos as stories on his Instagram account. The Abu Dhabi hotel where all the fighters are staying celebrated his win.

The 34-year-old certainly enjoyed his win but posted all the problems he had to face in the clash. He claimed he had a bad knee and taking a fight in 13 days is always difficult:

Making a big point

Krause also thanked his rival for the scrap and it will be interesting to see what is next for the American.

The 34-year-old moved to 28 wins and eight losses in his career after Fight Island 6. Krause was on a six-fight win streak before he took on Trevin Giles.

That was a split decision loss but Krause has come back strong after this win. He seems to be enjoying his time in Abu Dhabi now and the win would have made things sweeter.

Accepting a fight on short notice is always risky for any MMA star. However, Krause proved he can get the job done, and he could be back on another long winning streak now.
