Former UFC light heavyweight champion has shared his key to success recipe against Israel Adesanya
The UFC 259 event featured a main event clash between then light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz and middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
Blachowicz won the fight by unanimous decision after yielding to Adesanya’s crafty striking in the earlier rounds. He utilized his strength and superior weight advantage to nullify any striking onslaught. As for Adesanya, although he came short on his quest for double champ status, he has gone on to defend his middleweight throne twice in dominant fashion.
During a recent interview with Sportsnaut, Jan spoke about his approach against ‘The Last Stylebender’ and his path to victory.
“It was because I’m Jan Blachowicz, they are not,” Blachowicz said. “This is the biggest difference. In this fight, I took my legendary Polish power with me. That’s it. This is the secret, legendary Polish power. If I don’t forget it in the hotel room I beat everybody. If I forget it, not.”
Jan Blachowicz reminds the world about the only loss in Israel Adesanya’s career that came in his hands
Jan Blachowicz welcomed Israel Adesanya’s challenge to potential double champ status at UFC 259. Jan beat the previously undefeated Adesanya, who weighed in 4.5 pounds short of the 205 limit, by unanimous decision to retain his light heavyweight title.
Adesanya was evidently the smaller fighter and Jan utilized his weight and raw strength to take him down on will.
Reacting to Israel Adesanya’s fourth title defense, the Polish wrote, “Still the one”
