It wouldn’t be a long time before we see Jan Blachowicz fight Jiri Prochazka
Prochazka ‘devastated’ Dominick Reyes with a spinning back elbow in the second round of the UFC Vegas 25 main event, as Reyes swivelled to another dimension.
The Czech was just into his second fight in his UFC career, after having plied most of his trade in Rizin Fighting Federation.
Prochazka took his win streak to a flabbergasting 12, with his last defeat coming way back in December 2015.
The 28-year old made his UFC debut against Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 251. Just like today, he earned a second-round KO victory against Oezdemir. The win propelled him to number 5 in the light-heavyweight rankings in double-quick time.
And now it looks like his rankings further improve, even as he stares at a title bout against Jan Blachowicz.
Blachowicz, quickly acknowledged Prochazka’s victory, saying that he would meet him in the octagon soon.
Blachowicz wrote:
However, many fans mistook it. They thought that the Pole was avoiding Glover Teixeira. A while later, Super Jan clarified that he always keeps his word and that Teixeira would be his next opponent.
His tweet read:
“For all those who do not know the Slavic context of the previous post and its humorous nature. Of course, Glovera is the next contender. I always keep my word.”
Blachowicz will be making his second title defense against Glover Teixeira at UFC 266.
The event is set to take place on the 4th of September, this year. However, the venue is yet to be decided.
Blachowicz is coming off a superb unanimous decision victory against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 259, having won the title at UFC 253 against Dominick Reyes.
Teixeira, on the other hand has been breathing fire since the start of 2019. He is on a stunning 5 match win streak at a ripe old age of 41.
