Jeremy ‘Lil Heathen’ Stephens wants to fight Conor McGregor next

Jeremy Stephens had a night to forget at UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs Moises. The veteran took on Mateusz Gamrot and succumbed to a submission defeat.

And so did Conor McGregor. The former champ-champ faced back-to-back losses for the first time in his career, after going down to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 via. TKO (due to a doctor stoppage).

There was a time when McGregor and Stephens were at the peak of their powers (during the mid-2010s). Things have gone pretty south for both the UFC mainstays. While Stephens has won just 3 fights and lost 6 since 2017, McGregor has managed to win just 1 of his last 4 fights.

With both of them looking down and out, Stephens had a case to make. Saying that both him and McGregor are ones who would like to ‘stand and fight’, ‘Lil Heathen’ tweeted:

“Just thinking… the true fight to make is me and Connor. He broke his ankle, someone dove for my ankle. We both like to fight and keep it standing. Both power both different. Plus I like to calve kick and have wide range of KO’s.”

Throwback to when Conor McGregor produced one of the most hilarious moments in UFC presser history

It was 2016. UFC 205 pre-fight presser. McGregor was a megastar, in terms of money as well as Octagon presence. He was at his trash-talking best. Stephens was there at the presser to, since he had a fight against Frankie Edgar.

At the presser, Stephens claimed that McGregor only TKOs people, while he (Stephens) knocks them out cold.

“Right here, the hardest hitting 145 pounder. This guy TKOs people. When I knock people out they don’t f**king move.”

He was shut down by McGregor’s famous – “Who da f**k is dat guy?”
