Jessica Eye was targeted by a few UFC stars over missing weight recently
UFC star Jessica Eye isn’t done with her fighting career despite turning 34 soon.
The Flyweight star also lost to Cynthia Calvillo in a surprise result at Las Vegas 2. She was speaking on the MMA Fighting podcast and was asked if she wanted to fight again.
While Eye claimed she was looking to take a bit of a break after this result, she hit out at two of her rivals.
Eye was looking to fight again but was unhappy at how she was targeted after missing weight:
“Yeah of course, between Lauren Murphy and Jo Jo [Joanna Calderwood]. I don’t get them, I don’t get that they want to act like these sweet women but in reality, they are ugly souls.
“They go to Twitter to recruit people. They are bullies. that’s real-life bullying. As much as they want to show that ‘I am so nice, so sweet’, like you are bullies. That’s exactly what a bully is in definition.”
Eye added she was nobler and better than her rivals after admitting she was a bully too. She claimed she had to eat her words after missing weight for UFC Las Vegas but had a lot of praise for the winner, Calvillo.
Crazy weigh-in
The weigh-ins for UFC Las Vegas 2 was a little crazy, to say the least. Three fighters missed weight while Eye was the main event for the show.
However, she claimed she was just 0.25 pounds above the weight limit. Eye also claimed she was having trouble standing up during the weigh-in and that caught the attention of Joanne Calderwood.
Calderwood and Eye had a huge battle on social media regarding the failed weight cut. Eye was in no mood to take all this from her UFC rival and it seems all this hurt her at the event.
Calvillo picked up an impressive win while Eye claimed that taking the fight with three weeks notice was one reason why she couldn’t make weight.
