Jimmy Crute faces Modestas Bukauskas at the weekend in his next fight
UFC star Jimmy Crute takes all his fights seriously and takes extra steps to be in the right frame of mind.
The 24-year-old Australian faces Modestas Bukauskas in his next fight. However, an interesting bit of information cropped up from Brett Okamoto.
The ESPN reporter claimed that Crute sleeps in a van in a parking lot during fight camps. He also lives with his dog in the van and the Aussie confirmed this story.
Crute added that this helps him keep distractions away and claimed he used to sleep in the gym before he got the van.
“Yup. It takes away all the distractions of going home (2hours from training). Let’s me focus 100% on training and recovery. Before I got the van I used to sleep at the gym on a pullout couch.”
The Aussie also took a shot at those who spoke about making sacrifices to get into MMA:
“That’s why I laugh when people tell me they sacrifice everything for this sport.”

Looking for another win
The 24-year-old has an MMA record of 11 wins and one loss. He was the Hex Fight Series Light Heavyweight champion before impressing on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Crute won his first two UFC fights before losing to Misha Cirkunov at Fight Night: Cowboy vs Gaethje. However, the Aussie bounced back by defeating Michał Oleksiejczuk and will be keen on winning his next fight.
Things won’t be easy against Bukauskas though. The Baltic Gladiator, as Bukauskas is known, has an 11-2 MMA record.
The 26-year-old is on a seven-fight win streak and he also got a performance of the night bonus in his previous outing.
Bukauskas vs Crute could be one of the most intense battles on the latest Fight Island. Crute certainly has made a lot of effort to get to where he is, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this battle.
