Joanna Jedrzejczyk has just one fight left in her current UFC contract
It has been over a year since Joanna Jedrzejczyk stepped inside the octagon. She was last involved in a bloodbath against Zhang Weili at UFC 248. Both the fighters took a bad beating that night on the 7th of March 2020.
Fast forward, almost 15 months, Joanna hasn’t still landed her next opponent, and just has one fight left in her current UFC contract.
She addressed a possible move away from the UFC in a recent interview with The Schmo.
Following Paige VanZant and Rachael Ostovich’s move to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, Joanna was asked the same – if she would ever consider moving to a different promotion.
Joanna claimed that she had no plans of leaving the UFC for now, since she is someone who doesn’t plan too ahead.
“I don’t know. I like to plan…But, I don’t go too far that much. I see myself as an MMA and UFC fighter now.”
She then revealed that depending on who paid more, she might fancy a move to a different MMA promotion.
The former strawweight champion’s future in the UFC continues to remain uncertain with just one fight left in her current contract.
The Pole however, is determined in getting her hands back on the strawweight title.
In a recent interview with Damon Martin of MMA Fighting, Joanna revealed that she would like to challenge Rose Namajunas for a trilogy fight.
And, in case ‘Thug Rose’ declined, she said a rematch with Zhang Weili would be her next option.
Weili is currently negotiating a rematch with Thug Rose following her disappointing title loss to her at last month’s UFC 261.
