Renowned podcaster Joe Rogan will not be a part of UFC broadcast team at UFC 271
Joe Rogan’s controversy lingers on and continues to build up. The illustrious podcaster and UFC booth mainstay who is in deep waters for previous controversial statements that resurfaced the internet will not be part of the UFC commentator team at UFC 271, the promotion confirmed.
The biggest question building up this fight week was the presence of Joe Rogan at UFC 271. Although a majority of fighters and the promotion stood by Rogan during these times, this news did come as a surprise for anyone.
The team has cited last-minute ‘scheduling conflicts’ as the reason behind the absence. The event which is scheduled to be held in Houston, Texas will feature the rematch between middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker as the main event.
Former middleweight champion and MMA legend Mike Bisping will replace Joe Rogan for the fights this weekend.
Although the promotion has affirmed that Joe Rogan will be a part of the PPV event on March, things don’t seem to be working in his favor as of now.
As the fate of Rogan’s presence still remains a question, MMA fans will be awaiting his return at next month’s PPV.
Israel Adesanya resented the hate Joe Rogan has been receiving and condemned the wrath of cancel culture. When a reporter asked Dana White about the situation surrounding the world-famous podcaster, Izzy took over the mic and went on an epic rant standing by Joe Rogan and destroying the haters.
He went on to respond by saying, “Let me take this one, I’m black, I can take this one,” Adesanya said. “Look, there’s a lot of c—ts in this game, there’s a lot of snakes in this game. I’ve been in this fight game since 2008 and Joe Rogan is one of the nicest, coolest, most humble motherf—rs I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Understand that. And you know, f—k the noise, man. You know what they’re trying to do. You can’t control the man and he’s got the biggest platform in the world right now so that’s my n—a Joe Rogan. F—k the noise. Keep doing you, Joe. Have some mushrooms.”
Joe Rogan’s contribution has been instrumental in the success of the UFC and educating the fans about MMA as an art. It is not surprising to see the loyalty the fighters have shown towards Joe Rogan, who has given a huge number of fighters an opportunity to speak on his platform.
