Johnny Walker is willing to move up to the Heavyweight division and that could come soon

UFC Light Heavyweight star Johnny Walker was speaking to the Schmo in a short segment.

The 28-year-old Brazilian picked up a huge win at UFC Fight Night: Covington vs Woodley by defeating Ryan Spann.

This ended a two-fight losing streak for Walker and also ended Spann’s eight-fight winning run. While Walker claimed this was one of the biggest wins of his career, he does plan to move up a division.

The Schmo pointed out at Walker was walking around at 240 pounds and the Brazilian confirmed there are plans to move up:

“100% soon. I just need maybe two more years to make my story in the Light Heavyweight division.

“100% I have power enough, size enough to be heavyweight so I am going to be there soon.”

However, the 28-year-old wanted to get a title at the Light Heavyweight division, if possible and then move up a division and fight for the gold.

The Brazilian was also keen on a rematch against Nikita Krylov, who is to fight later in October but his rival pulled out due to an injury.

However, Walker added he was going to bide his time and make a decision on when he wanted his next fight.

Hoping to train with McGregor

The Brazilian also added that he was training in the same gym that Conor McGregor normally does.

However, he hadn’t seen the Notorious One in the two months he spent there. Walker was keen on getting into the Octagon with McGregor and learning a thing or two from the MMA legend.

However, it seems he is taking time on what his next move is. Walker added that he wasn’t looking to make big jumps and was looking to call out those guys who are above him in the rankings.
