Dustin Poirier’s wife, Jolie Poirier, met up with Conor McGregor after UFC 257

UFC fans were treated to a spectacle at UFC 257 as Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor battled in the main event.

It was Poirier who picked up the win after a great performance and there were a lot of kind words shared between the fighters before and after the clash.

This wasn’t the same kind of McGregor we had seen who would trash talk opponents. He had a ton of respect for Poirier before the clash and the same was brought up after the battle too.

UFC released a special from the show called “The Thrill and The Agony”. One of the backstage segments saw Jolie Poirier, the wife of Dustin, meet up with McGregor.

The Irishman might have been nursing his leg after some devastating kicks from Poirier. However, the Irishman was humble and respectful to Jolie.

The pair shared some pleasantries and Jolie also thanked McGregor for the fight. McGregor, for his part, added that Poirier fought a great battle and he was smiling through the exchanges too:

Poirier’s wife was also ecstatic after the win and shared her thoughts on those who doubted her man.

This certainly was a different McGregor to what we normally see. However, the Irishman doesn’t seem done with Poirier at the moment.

Dustin Poirier to meet Conor McGregor in a trilogy?

McGregor has been open about facing Poirier in a third fight and hope to make it 2-1 in his favour.

He brought it up right after the loss and it will be interesting to see what is in the pipeline from the UFC.

Poirier, for his part, believes the UFC will set up the trilogy. It makes sense given that they are 1-1 and also that this would be a money fight.

Poirier should be fighting for the belt and the UFC now have to find a rival for the Diamond. The 32-year-old seems to be in great form but there are some great rivals in the Lightweight division.

Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler have all been impressive in recent months. One of those three could be the rival for Poirier but McGregor cannot be ruled out for now.
