Khamzat Chimaev is undefeated in his MMA career

The UFC has its next big star ready in the making in Khamzat Chimaev. The 27-year-old is undefeated in his MMA career and has finished all of his UFC opponents.

Borz, as Chimaev is called, has been dominant since making his UFC debut. He is 4-0 in the UFC and has spent less than 10 minutes inside the Octagon in his four outings.

Chimaev has also fought in the middleweight and welterweight divisions and there seems to be a lot of hype around him.

One person who has been close to all the action is Jon Anik. The UFC commentator was speaking to MMA Fighting and was asked about Chimaev possibly going for the Welterweight title.

Anik was now of the belief that Chimaev could make 170lbs easier now and that Welterweight would be his division for now.

However, he had some big questions also for Borz:

“So, yeah, my burning question is, is Khamzat Chimaev as elite as he seems to be, as strong and as dangerous as he seems to be? And can he work himself into a fight with a guy in Kamaru Usman, who is something like 15-0 in the UFC and one of the greatest, if not the greatest of all-time? That’s sort of at the tip of my tongue right now.”

Can Khamzat Chimaev challenge Kamaru Usman

Chimaev is currently ranked 11th in the Welterweight division, so he would need another couple of wins against top opposition before thinking of facing the champion.

Kamaru Usman is undefeated in the UFC and recently defeated Colby Covington. He has also beaten the likes of Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns to dominate the division.

Chimaev has called out the champion and is keen on a fight for the gold, and this could be an interesting bout.

Usman and Chimaev both have great grappling skills. However, Usman’s boxing has improved a lot in recent bouts.

It all could come down to stamina with Usman having more five-round championship bouts. Chimaev is the future of the division, but he has to be a little careful and not bite off more than he can chew.
