UFC 187 was scheduled to be headlined by a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship fight. The then-champion Jon Jones was to face top contender Anthony Johnson.

However, Jones was indefinitely suspended from UFC and his title was stripped. Daniel Cormier, who was the previous challenger for the belt, fought Johnson in the main event.

Jones had reportedly been involved in a hit-and-run case, because of which he was pulled from the event. ‘Bones’ was being tried for misdemeanor by Albuquerque Police Department.

As a result, Jones did not fight against Johnson at the event. However, the duo gave UFC fans a memorable moment before the event even started.
