Jon Jones has just one loss in his MMA career but it seems he is working to get that off his record
There is no doubt that Jon Jones is one of the greatest stars in the history of MMA. He was nearly untouchable as the UFC Light Heavyweight champion and only lost the gold due to failed drugs tests.
Many consider him to be the GOAT of MMA and he is now planning to move up to the Heavyweight division.
It is to be seen if Jones becomes a two-division champion but he decided to take part in a Q+A session on Twitter.
The 33-year-old has 26 wins, one loss and one no contest in his MMA career. That one loss came against Matt Hamill in the Ultimate Fighter back in 2009. However, there was a lot of controversy about this.
While Jones appeared to have used illegal downward elbow strikes, the former champion was only penalised a point for this.
Hamill was unable to continue due to a dislocated shoulder and replays were also used which led to Jones’ disqualification.
Dana White, the UFC president, believes this should have been a no contest and Jones was asked if any progress had been done to remove the loss from the record.
Bones claimed that Dana White was still working on it but he wasn’t fretting about it all that much:
Moving to the Heavyweight division is certainly a big decision from Jones. He has to deal with the extra power that the likes of Francis Ngannou have and was asked about his cardio by a fan.
Jones wasn’t worried about cardio but he brought up his heart and desire to beat up the Heavyweights.
It is to be seen when Jones makes his Heavyweight debut in the UFC. The former champion decided to vacate his Light Heavyweight title and wants a crack at Stipe Miocic.
However, he might have to wait a bit since Miocic should defend the title first against Ngannou. Jones is still working on adding a few more pounds and he provided an update for the same.
