Jon Jones who was arrested on the 24th of September has posted bail

In the early hours of September 24, Jon Jones was arrested by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and was charged with battery domestic violence and tampering with a vehicle.

This incident happened just hours after the light-heavyweight GOAT was inducted into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame at the UFC 2020 HOF ceremony.

His fight against Alexander Gustafsson in September 2013 was the one that got inducted into the Fight Wing HOF.

The news of Jones’ arrest was first reported by TMZ and Marc Raimondi of ESPN. A lot of members from the MMA community, notably UFC President Dana White reacted to Jones’ arrest.

White stated that he wasn’t even surprised that ‘Bones’ was arrested, before going on to add that ‘Jones has got a lot of demons.’

However, there has been an update on Jones’ arrest.

Jon Jones posts bail

Jon Jones has posted bail following his arrest and will be appearing in Las Vegas court on the 26th of October.

A judge later has also asked for Jones’ biological specimen to be submitted.

ESPN’s Marc Raimondi who has been on the story, reported the same:

His Tweet read:

“Jon Jones will not be appearing in court in Las Vegas this afternoon as expected, per a court official. Jones posted bail Friday evening and is no longer in custody. His next court date is Oct. 26, a status check on the filing of a potential criminal complaint against him.”

He followed it up with a reply to the same:

“This afternoon, a judge will review Jones’ case in order to determine whether there is probable cause to keep the DNA that was taken from Jones following his Friday morning arrest or not. But that will happen in chambers and neither Jones nor his attorney will be there.”

A while later, Raimondi provided an update about the biological specimen to be submitted:

“A judge in Las Vegas Justice Court found today that there was probable cause for the arrest of UFC star Jon Jones. Per court records, that means “the defendant’s biological specimen shall be submitted to the appropriate forensic laboratory for genetic marker analysis.”
