Jon Jones continues to push for a big payout for Francis Ngannou fight

Former UFC lightweight champion Jon Jones has just been going on and on about getting a big payout for fighting Francis Ngannou.

‘Bones’ has bulked up in preparation for his debut heavyweight fight after he took the step up from 205 a few months back. And his first fight was touted to be against the winner of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou 2 at UFC 260.

The moment ‘The Predator’ won against Miocic, Jones took to his social media in order to push for a big payday, leading a few to think if he was trying to duck Ngannou by using money as an excuse.

But for a man who has won 14 out of his 14 title fights, that probably isn’t it. And even Booker T seems to think how Jones deserves to be put at the top of the food chain.

So asking for a big money fight is not totally senseless in that regard. Dana White also brought up this issue in a way that did not please Bones.

Jon Jones asks for a payout in excess of $10million

And now, he has reiterated how even $10million would not be enough to get him inside ring with Ngannou.

He mentioned that a discussion with UFC lawyer, Hunter Campbell, has taken place and that he has specified that he needs more than $10million for this fight.

That is truly a shockingly high amount and while Jon Jones is rightly regarded as the GOAT by many, such money for a fight against a first-time heavyweight champion might just too much to justify.

To put that into context, McGregor’s highest payout was just over $5million when he fought at UFC 257 against Dustin Poirier.

And asking for more than double that amount might just be a little too early for him.

Jones even brought up McGregor in another tweet and suggested the UFC would have gone crazy if the Irishman wanted more money:

McGregor does seem to get what he wants. The Irishman will face Poirier in his trilogy fight soon and that is expected to bring in a lot of PPV buys as well.
