Dana White joked that Jon Jones should become a Middleweight after Francis Ngannou beat Stipe Miocic

Jon Jones has come out all guns blazing and took a swipe at Dana White after some UFC 260 comments.

White was speaking to the press after the main event. Francis Ngannou picked up a huge KO win over Stipe Miocic and became the new Heavyweight champion.

Jones, who vacated his Light Heavyweight title to move up a division, was watching the Ngannou vs Miocic fight.

He was constantly tweeting about wanting a big money fight, something that Dana White was told after the clash.

However, the UFC president joked that Jones should move down two divisions after Ngannou’s performance.

He also wasn’t convinced that Jones saying he wanted the money meant he wanted to fight. Jones, who is regarded as one of the greatest MMA talents of all-time took offence to this and hit out at White:

“What a great way to promote the fight. Let’s just s*** on Jon Jones and make him seem afraid. How dare he ask to get paid serious money for a serious fight”

Jones even shared the video of White making the comments and it is clear he isn’t happy with the situation at all.

What is the next step for the UFC after Francis Ngannou’s win?

White had already commented earlier that Jones’ first fight would be with the winner of the UFC 260 main event.

However, it seems that White was caught off guard by Jones’ comments. The former champion wanted a big money day isn’t incorrect as this would be a huge fight for the promotion.

Jones could not be defeated in the Octagon when he was the Light Heavyweight champion. He was as dominant as any champion had been in the UFC and now he is taking a risk by moving up a division.

Ngannou looks like a really dangerous opponent and it will be interesting to see if the UFC does pair up the new champion with Jones.
