Coach Mike Winkeljohn recently expelled Jon Jones from the Jackson Wink MMA Academy
Jon Jones has not been having the best of days. The UFC light-heavyweight GOAT was recently arrested by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department on charges of battery domestic violence.
The incident took place just after the UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony that was held on the 24th of September in Las Vegas.
Jones was inducted into the Fight Wing of The Hall of Fame for his first fight against Alexander Gustafsson back in 2013.
News went viral that Jones had allegedly attacked his partner Jessie Moses which eventually led to his arrest.
Jones’ actions were condemned by the MMA community, and more recently it looks like Mike Winkeljohn of Jackson Wink MMA Academy has had enough with Jones as well (at least momentarily).
In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting, Winkeljohn revealed that Jones has been expelled from the Jackson Wink MMA Academy.
Winkeljohn was quoted as saying:
“So at the moment, he’s out of the gym. He’s not allowed to come to the gym ‘cause I feel that… I don’t know, I feel I had to do that because ignoring it and expecting different results, as they say, is insanity. He’s got a lot of yes people around him that won’t tell him the truth. He might hate me for it, but I had to tell him the truth.” [via MMA Fighting]
In a recent Tweet, Jon Jones cleared the air regarding the assault of his fiance. He stated that there was just a confrontation and nothing else.
Jones’ Tweet read:
“I love how people are imagining the worst possible situation in their heads and making it somehow factual. I never hit my fiancé and our daughters were woken up after our confrontation. My daughters didn’t see or hear us arguing.”
