Jon Jones is training hard for his UFC heavyweight debut
It’s been a while since Jon Jones vacated his UFC light heavyweight belt and revealed his intentions of stepping up to 265.
In that time, Jan Blachowicz won the vacant belt and even went on to defend it once against Israel Adesanya. But Jones is yet to even have a fight booked.
Nevertheless, it was said from minute 1 that Jones’ first match in the heavyweight division would be for the title, which many believe would be deserved.
This meant that the winner of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou 2 at UFC 260 would take on ‘Bones’. But things are yet to fall in place since then.
The American continues to demand a big payout for his title fight and Dana White does not look like he will budge.
But that hasn’t stopped Jones from training as he posted a series of photos and a video of him in his latest training session.
We knew Jones was bulking, but he really looks like a beast in the latest video; and also pretty fast and agile.
This is pretty good for MMA fans to see because it would be safe to believe that he is training for something, even if it is not the Ngannou fight.
However, you just know that he has his eyes set on the Cameroonian. With so much hype around it now, him not taking it would lead fans to forever accuse of him ducking ‘The Predator’.
And it also doesn’t make sense for him to seek another fight. This is going to be his biggest payout in the promotion, however much that is.
Let’s just hope that a date is set quickly and the fight is booked before other options start being explored for the both of them.
