Ever since UFC president Dana White broke out the news that the company is working on a fight for Jon Jones’ return, odd makers have laid out his chances against potential opponent Stipe Miocic
Earlier this week UFC President Dana White confirmed that the UFC is working on a fight for Jon Jones’ much-anticipated move to heavyweight, and the boss man had a name in mind. It was revealed that former champion and arguably the greatest heavyweight in the UFC, Stipe Miocic will welcome Jones in his maiden fight.
“Listen, people have been talking about how awesome this card is, and I was just telling somebody the other day our lineup for this summer is incredible, so I’m hoping that Jon Jones is gonna be a part of that lineup this summer,” White said to TMZ Sports… “Stipe makes sense (for Jones).”
White had also mentioned during the successful UFC London event that his dream fight this year would be to set up a fight for the return of Jon Jones. The youngest champion in UFC history has had his fair share of struggles outside the octagon, but nothing comes close to the greatness he portrays every time he steps foot inside the octagon.
Jon Jones opens as significant favorite against Stipe Miocic
Following White’s comments, BetOnline.ag was quick to release odds for the fight that saw Jones open as the betting favorite over Miocic. In a tweet posted by MMA reporter Chamatkar Sandhu, it is visibly evident that the odds makers favor Jones against Miocic.
To set a stake with Jon Jones opening as a -200 favorite, you would need to bet $200 to win $100 if he wins. If you like the Miocic odds, a $100 bet would net you $170 if the former heavyweight champion gets the job done. Although Jones hasn’t fought since February, 2020 it is no surprise that he still remains a massive crowd and betting favorite.
Miocic on the other hand is coming off a vicious knockout loss to current champion Francis Ngannou, and he will be looking forward to spoiling Jon’s homecoming party.
