Stipe Miocic hit back at Francis Ngannou wanting a title shot and Jon Jones shared his thoughts on the same
Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, had his say in the simmering rivalry between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.
Miocic defeated Daniel Cormier to retain his Heavyweight title at UFC 252. This was the third bout in their rivalry and Miocic put on a clinical display. He won the series 2-1 and this was also Cormier’s last fight in the MMA circuit.
While DC has spoken about his retirement in the past, Miocic is still going strong and is planning for his next rival.
That should be Ngannou as the Cameroon-French star has been excellent since his loss to Miocic a few years back.
That was for the Heavyweight title and was Ngannou’s first loss in the UFC. However, Ngannou is on a four-fight win streak and has called out Miocic for another title shot.
Miocic vs Ngannou would be great but the champion claimed that he wasn’t excited at facing Ngannou since he had already defeated him.
Ngannou didn’t take to this kindly and went on to say that this was a way of Miocic avoided him:
Jones moved up to the Heavyweight division and is keen on getting the gold. He is regarded as one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time and vacated the Light Heavyweight title recently to move up a division.
While Miocic has teased that he wants to box, Jones responded to all of this. Bones claimed that he wasn’t the best boxer in the world but also took a shot at Miocic:
Jones would be keen on facing Miocic but it would be a little unfair to just hand him a title shot. Ngannou has waited for his chance and it will be interesting to see what is next for the UFC champion.
