Jon Jones took a shot at Dominick Reyes after Jan Blachowicz destroyed Reyes at UFC 253

Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones took a shot at Dominick Reyes as Jan Blachowicz won at UFC 253.

Reyes vs Blachowicz was for the vacant Light Heavyweight title and it was expected to be a great fight.

Blachowicz might have been the slight underdog, given that he had more losses than Reyes. However, the Pole dismantled Reyes and picked up an impressive TKO win in the second round.

Reyes took some great shots to the body too and it seemed he had a rib injury on the right side. The American also suffered a broken nose in the fight and spoke about returning stronger than ever.

However, Jones, who was Reyes’ previous opponent, hit out at the rival. Many had claimed that Reyes had defeated Jones when the pair met but the champion kept his gold.

He claimed that Reyes had lost sight of what he wanted to achieve after the pair met:

Living like a champion

Some fans weren’t able to understand who Jones was talking about. The former Light Heavyweight champ then clarified he was talking about Reyes only and suggested the challenger was living like a king after their fight:

Reyes seemed to have no answer for Blachowicz and this loss would come as a bitter blow to him.

Reyes was one of the few UFC stars that actually went toe-to-toe with Jones in the Octagon but he came short then.

This was his chance to finally pick up the gold but the 30 has only suffered two losses in his MMA career so far.

Reyes will come back stronger than ever when he fights next, and it will be interesting to see where he is placed in the title scene.
