UFC welterweight contenders Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington throw down in a Miami restaurant, weeks after their UFC 272 fight
Looks like the bad blood between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington hasn’t been settled. The ‘Gamebred’ had maintained during the post-fight press conference that it is still ‘on sight, with Colby, after suffering a unanimous decision loss to him at UFC 272.
A non-title main event spot in the UFC wasn’t enough for the friends turned foes to settle their feud. The pair resorted to confrontation when they crossed paths in a Miami restaurant, and punches were thrown.
Talk show host and podcaster Andy Slater broke the news via Twitter.
“SLATER SCOOP: UFC stars Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal got into a fight moments ago at Papi Steak restaurant in Miami Beach. Police have been called,” Slater wrote on Twitter.
A video has also emerged from TMZ which shows Covington outside the premises surrounded by cops. A clearly agitated Covington can be heard saying,
“He’s over here swinging, trying to come at me, and I ran …How would he know I’m here?”
Jorge Masvidal reacts to the alleged altercation
Earlier that night, Menery and the Nelk Boys posted a video of Covington inside of the restaurant. This must have served as an information to Jorge, who rushed to the restaurant and confronted Colby.
He was seen saying in the video, ” Talk that shi.. you gotta back it up”
It is evident by now that this beef is far from over and the two will throw down at any given opportunity. Will there be a rematch in the making for the future?
