Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal are revisiting their rivalry at UFC 261 but the odds are solely in favour of the champion

UFC 261 has three titles on the line but the odds don’t look good for Jorge Masvidal as he tries to take Kamaru Usman down.

Masvidal, popularly called as Gamebred, took up a short notice fight against the champion, Usman, for UFC 251.

Gamebred lasted all five rounds but it was an easy win for the better prepared Usman. Masvidal only have six days to make weight but this time, he will have a full training camp to face Usman.

The pair have traded barbs ever since Usman defeated Gilbert Burns at UFC 258. That was another dominant showing by the 18-1 champion and he broke several records too.

Usman has defeated all of his rivals since coming to the UFC but this rematch should be something great. Masvidal has brought up how a proper training camp can help him dethrone the Nigerian Nightmare but the betting lines don’t share the same enthusiasm.

Chamatkar Sandhu shared the odds for Masvidal vs Usman 2 and they don’t make for good reading.

Usman is the clear favourite at -350 while Masvidal comes as the underdog at +285.

Can Jorge Masvidal beat the odds and beat Kamaru Usman?

Masvidal is one of the most popular stars in the UFC but his first title shot didn’t go well. However, Masvidal wasn’t finished by his rival and that is something that he can work with.

Also, a full training camp will certainly help Masvidal but Usman cannot be taken lightly. Ali Abdelaziz shared why Usman wanted this Masvidal rematch and the champion certainly is one of the greatest Welterweights ever.

Usman seems to have been looked down upon ever since he won the belt. However, he has defeated Tyron Woodley, Colby Covington, Masvidal and Burns with relative ease.

It will be interesting to see how things plan out for the pair. There is a lot of bad blood between them and there could be a title change too.

MMA, like any sport, is unpredictable and one knee could knock the champion out.
