Jorge Masvidal was recently asked about fighting aliens and Gamebred named Khabib Nurmagomedov and a couple of others for the battle
Jorge Masvidal might be done with the UFC after he handed over the symbolic BMF belt at UFC 291.
Masvidal had won the belt by defeating Nate Diaz, however, he had never defended the belt in his career. The UFC 291 main event saw Dustin Poirier face off against Justin Gaethje for the title.
Masvidal was present in the arena and also took part in several interviews before the clash. One such was taken by Nina-Marie Daniele, and she is known to ask some weird questions.
She asked Gamebred several questions and one was about picking a few people to fight aliens.
Masvidal named Yoel Romero because he was nasty, and then named Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Masvidal claimed that Romero was a great grappler and he would be the striker. He then added that Khabib would be ideal to fight the aliens and had to say this:
“Khabib, man. He has that style that maybe the aliens are crazy good strikers.
“ Maybe they don’t like that grappling style. Let’s bring in one of the best grapplers ever. I would probably get a Khabib just to fu***** ride guys into the next planet.”
The final member of the team, for Masvidal, was Poirier.
Dustin Poirier fails to win title at UFC 291
While Masvidal wanted a tough star like Poirier to be on his alien invasion clash, it didn’t go well for the Diamond at UFC 291.
Gaethje produced one of the greatest UFC moments with a brilliant head kick that knocked Poirier out.
However, Poirier was magnanimous in defeat and congratulated Gaethje on becoming the new BMF.
Poirier has never won the undisputed UFC lightweight belt in his career, though he is a two-time interim champion.
It is to be seen what is next for the Diamond, but he isn’t thinking of retirement anytime soon.
