UFC welterweight title contender Jorge Masvidal sent out his words of prayer for the people of New York following the horrific subway shooting
A gunman in a gas mask reportedly fired 33 times inside a Brooklyn subway during Tuesday morning’s rush hour in New York. The mass-shooting issue has been plaguing for years now and this turned out to be a nightmare for many commuters and triggered wide panic.
Police said the gunman was acting alone and immediately fled the crime scene.
Ten people were hit directly by gunfire, including five hospitalized in critical but stable condition, authorities said. Police said that at least 13 more people suffered from smoke inhalation or were left injured due to the panic caused by the smoke-filled subway car. Some collapsed to the pavement of the 36th Street station. The fire department said two of those hurt were treated at the scene.
Poilice has mounted for an intense manhunt to track down the suspect.
Masvidal was amongst the first to respond to the situation, and empathized with the people who suffered. In the horrific act of cruelty, Masvidal’s heart went out to the good people of New York.
He urged them to stay safe by posting a tweet which said, ‘ Ny stay safe 🙏🏼’
