Dana White took a swipe at Jake Paul but Jorge Masvidal was glad with one aspect
Dana White took a huge swipe at Jake Paul after the YouTuber laid down a list of changes he wanted the UFC president to put into his promotion.
Paul wanted better pay for fighters, health benefits and a 50% share of the UFC’s profits, also for the fighters.
He also promised to retire from boxing if White accepted all this and was willing to fight Jorge Masvidal in the UFC.
White hit back at Paul with his own set of requirements. He was willing to get randomly tested for cocaine for the next 10 years but claimed that Paul needed to get tested for steroid use as well.
White also hit out at Paul’s manager, who was a former UFC employee. The UFC president also egged Paul and his manager to start a promotion and treat the fighters the right way.
White also called Jorge Masvidal a “pay-per-view” superstar, and Gamebred was quick to comment on this.
“Thank you to my employer for recognizing my hard work. Only took you 4 years”
White brought up how the second Paul vs Tyron Woodley fight struggled for PPV numbers. While the YouTuber defeated the former UFC star via a knockout, he went on to call out several UFC stars like Masvidal and Conor McGregor.
Masvidal is still one of the biggest names in the promotion despite losing two title shots. Gamebred can sell PPVs and there is no doubt that White was right in his call. However, he seemed a little happy that White finally agreed about how popular the UFC star was.
Paul vs Masvidal would be a huge fight if it was in boxing or in MMA. Gamebred has the presentation and skills to make any fight look big, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the future between him and the YouTuber.
