A shocking video of Diego Sanchez and his coach training has been doing the rounds in social media of late

Sanchez was recently released by the UFC, just before his fight against Donald Cerrone at UFC Fight Night: Waterson vs Rodriguez. The release of the fighter with the longest uninterrupted tenure, especially just ahead of a fight, came as a massive surprise to everyone.

Upon further investigation, Sanchez’s release was largely attributed to his coach Joshua Fabia (he had asked for 16-year long medical records) and ‘The Nightmare’ failing to provide an assurance on his health.

Further unearthing was done, and the MMA community in unison (barring Uncle Chael) branded Fabia an evil man. And, a training video of Fabia throwing strikes at Sanchez while he is suspended upside down went viral.

Fabia was blasted for his ridiculous training approach. A legion of MMA stars ripped through Fabia, condemning the mediocre drill.

However, Fabia justified himself, in an interview with Mike Swick that he used his bizarre training on Sanchez to make him used to getting hit. Fabia went on to say that he never sees fighters training ‘getting hit’, despite the sport revolving majorly on knockdowns and knockouts.

Fabia being a self-awareness coach, spoke about the psychological side of things that happens to a fighter, when they train getting hit.

He was quoted as saying:

“So, I’m seeing guys get knocked out like nothing, yet I never see any of them training getting hit. So, Diego, I hit Diego 20 minutes a day. 20 minutes a day, I hit him, so his body understands impact. These fighters are thinking they’re never going to get fucking hit, and when they do, it gets them emotional. It gets them all these other things. They start feeling like it’s a failure, versus ‘That’s what’s supposed to happen in here, crazy. Calm down.’ And if you actually master that skill, the fear and anxiety that’s making you rush or hesitate won’t be there. It really will be blended out. [via Bloody Elbow]

MMA fans slam ‘disgusting parasite’ Joshua Fabia

No sooner did Fabia’s training video go viral on the web, than fans began castigating him.

A legion of fans took to Twitter to rip into the ‘self-awareness’ coach for his weird training method. The focal point was ‘The Double Standard’ Fabia himself asking the UFC for Sanchez’s medical records and throwing strikes at him while he has hung upside down.

One fan called the act disgusting, branding Fabia a parasite.

But until this day, Fabia has remained grounded on his stance and thinks that he has done no wrong.
