Juancamilo Ronderos was easily dispatched by the experienced David Dvorak at UFC Vegas 27
Ronderos looked completely out of depth and wasn’t clearly UFC ready when he took on David Dvorak in the prelims of UFC Fight Night 188.
Raulian Paiva was originally scheduled to face Dvorak, but a brutal weight-cut saw him go straight to the hospital due to low-blood pressure and dehydration.
On just a day’s notice Ronderos stepped in. He had been training for the Contender Series and hence was in Vegas.
He was coming into the promotion with 4 wins out of 4, having plied his trade only in Warrior Xtreme Cagefighting. The Colombian trains at Xtreme Coutoure.
Right from the beginning of the fight, Ronderos looked shaky. He was throwing wild punches, without precision. None of his strikes troubled Dvorak.
Halfway into the first round, the action shifted towards the cage. Dvorak went for a submission, perfectly executed it and tightened on a rear-naked choke. After a brief struggle Ronderos tapped.
A night to forget for the Colombian.
Dvorak joined the UFC last year in the month of March. He took on Bruno Silva, and won via. unanimous decision. He has then gone on to beat Jordan Espinosa, and now Ronderos.
The Czech is currently on an unbelievable eighteen match win streak in his professional career, with an overall record of 20 wins and just 3 losses.
A few more wins and he might find himself close to the flyweight top 5. His nation which already features another exciting prospect in Jiri Prochazka, will be glad to have another.
