Julian Marquez seems impressed by Glover Teixeira after a great win over Thiago Santos

Glover Teixeira proved he still has it after defeating Glover Teixeira in the last UFC Fight Night event.

The 41-year-old survived a couple of huge hits from Santos but turned things around with a rear-naked choke.

Teixeira was pleased with the win but called out Dana White too. He wanted a shot for the Light Heavyweight title but that isn’t his for now. Jan Blachowicz, the UFC Champion, is set to face Israel Adesanya, something that White confirmed.

Adesanya is undefeated in his MMA career and holds the UFC Middleweight title. However, he will be moving up one division for a huge battle that has everyone talking.

Teixeira came into this fight as the #3 ranked star in the division. The Brazilian turned back time with a vintage performance and told White that he didn’t want to wait and wanted his shot.

Marquez wants Teixeira to get a shot

Julian Marquez is in action on this week’s Fight Night event, and he got to meet Teixeira recently. The Cuban Missile Crisis posted a picture of himself with the Brazilian and backed him to get the title shot too:

“Who else wants to see @gloverteixeira get a title shot?”

Marquez, for his part, takes on Saparbeg Safarov at UFC Fight Night 183. The Cuban-American is currently 7-2 in his MMA career and lost his last clash in the UFC.

That came at the Ultimate Fighter 27 finale where he was defeated by Alessio Di Chirico. Marquez would be keen on getting back into the win column and it will be interesting to see how this fight goes.

Teixeira might be looking for a title shot but Marquez will now be concentrating on a tough battle against Safarov.
