Junior dos Santos is in action on Saturday but still had time to share a prediction for Francis Ngannou vs Stipe Miocic
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos takes on the rising star Ciryl Gane at UFC 256.
This is a real test for the former champion and he has been on a three-fight losing streak while Gane has been impressing in his recent fights.
However, Dos Santos believed this was going to be a good fight and backed himself to do well. The 36-year-old was speaking to the Schmo and added that if he didn’t believe in himself, he wouldn’t be fighting any more.
Dos Santos also backed himself to become a champion and his new journey would start tomorrow. However, he was also asked about the current scenario in the Heavyweight division. Jon Jones moved up to face the champion Stipe Miocic while Francis Ngannou also wants a crack at Miocic.
Dos Santos wanted Ngannou vs Miocic but backed the champ to get the win:
“I hope that is the fight. Francis Ngannou is waiting a lot, I know it is not good. But, if they really fight in March or whatever, I really like Stipe Miocic’s style of fighting.
“I really believe he will be able to take advantage of that opportunity and win the fight again, as he did against Francis Ngannou.”
A good fight
Dos Santos also brought up how unpredictable Ngannou is, and didn’t rule him out of the clash thanks to his punching power.
“Of course, Francis Ngannou is unpredictable, just throws those hands. Once they find you, you are done.”
The Brazilian predicted this was going to be a great fight and it will be interesting to see what the UFC does.
Miocic hasn’t fought since defeating Daniel Cormier in their trilogy while Ngannou has been on a great winning streak after losing the title battle against Miocic a few years back.
Jones is the problem in all this as he is considered as one of the greatest MMA athletes of all-time. He vacated his Light Heavyweight title to move to the next division and is keen on getting his hands on Miocic and more UFC gold.
