Justin Gaethje believes Khabib Nurmagomedov will return to Octagon but under one condition

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from MMA recently but Justin Gaethje claims the Russian will return

Justin Gaethje was training at the UFC centre and was caught up by the Schmo. The American is ranked #1 in the UFC Lightweight division, despite losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov.

That was Gaethje’s last fight in the Octagon and it was kind of a shocking defeat. Many believed the American would be able to challenge the undefeated Khabib for the title.

However, Gaethje was choked out thanks to a triangle submission but there was more to come. Khabib shocked the world by announcing his retirement and ended his career with 29 wins. This decision was taken after he made a promise to his mother to stop fighting and that his father had passed away a few months back.

However, many believe that Khabib will be back and Gaethje also thought the same. The American believed that Khabib would return for his 30th ‘super fight’ against the legendary Georges St-Pierre but not for a title.

Will Khabib Nurmagomedov make a return?

There is a lot of confusion regarding the Lightweight title at the moment. Dana White hasn’t stripped Khabib of the title despite the Russian claiming he was done.

GSP, for his part, has spoken about a possible 30th fight against Khabib but it will be interesting to see if the Canadian makes a second return from retirement.

Khabib is regarded as one of the greatest in the MMA world too and he has always kept a promise. However, the decision to retire could have been taken after an emotional UFC 254 and a super fight could be enough to see him don the gloves one last time.
