Conor McGregor earned a ‘clown’ tag from fellow lightweight Justin Gaethje following his UFC 264 loss

Conor McGregor, probably having his back against the wall, took on Dustin Poirier in the main event of UFC 264. The trilogy fight was set for 5 rounds, and the world awaited a blistering performance, especially from ‘The Notorious’.

Little did McGregor know that the fight would end in the first round due to a doctor stoppage.

The Irishman suffered a nasty left-ankle snap with just a few seconds remaining in the first round after going hammer and tongs at Poirier in the initial part of the first round.

However, Poirier had the better of McGregor in the latter half of the first round, with several fighters and critics going on to claim after the fight, that Poirier would have beaten McGregor eventually.

Several fighters took to Twitter to react to McGregor’s loss, and number 2 ranked lightweight Justin Gaethje was one among them.

‘The Highlight’ reacted to ‘The Notorious’ loss with a clown emoji.
