Justin Gaethje was one of the few that shared his happiness at Conor McGregor losing at UFC 257 thanks to a KO

Justin Gaethje was speaking to MMA Junkie as the world tried to get their head around the UFC Lightweight division.

UFC 257 saw two big names stand out as Michael Chandler and Dustin Poirier impressed. Chandler knocked out Dan Hooker in his UFC debut but the main event was a huge talking point.

Conor McGregor was expected to beat Poirier. However, The Diamond put on a vintage performance as he knocked out the Irishman.

Gaethje, who has had verbal battles with McGregor in the past, was quick to share how much he enjoyed the Irishman getting knocked out.

That caught the attention of several fans and he was asked if he regretted saying that. The Highlight initially said that he had put the gun down and it was his fault, but added that people enjoyed reading such things.

However, he then went into full attack mode and explained why he enjoyed the KO:

“Personally, I enjoyed seeing someone I consider not a good person or has carried himself in the past as not a good person get beat by someone who I consider as a good person.

“Who doesn’t want to see that? I enjoyed that.”

Gaethje still called McGregor an “elite fighter” but claimed he went to another planet after the KO:

“He went to a different planet. He got put to sleep. You have seen the video of the nice Conor and mean Conor, that guy is a f****** piece of s*** and I can’t forget it.”

Tons of praise for Dustin Poirier

Gaethje added that he would have to be hit on the head several times if he was to forget about McGregor.

However, the Highlight had tons of praise for Poirier. The Diamond is one of the nicest people outside of the Octagon and has done a lot with his charity.

Gaethje added that Poirier carried himself positively and puts a lot of effort into everything. He was also happy for Poirier as he got the win and a lot of the UFC world was also feeling the same after UFC 257.
