UFC lightweight title contender Justin Gaethje did not take kindly to Nate Diaz’s Instagram story poking fun at him
UFC 274 will feature two of the best lightweight in the world – Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje. Charles Oliveira has been on a dominant run in the division ever since his resurgence, and many have tipped Gathje to be his biggest test so far.
Justin Gaethje sat down with ESPN correspondent Megan Olivi to preview his upcoming fight, talk about his preparations, and his journey inside the octagon. Speaking about his upcoming fight with Charles, Gaethje said, “I’m gonna be perfect and I’ll be perfect for 25 minutes. If he can beat me, then kudos to him. But he’s gonna have to walk through hell like Khabib [Nurmagomedov] did. He’s not as powerful, he doesn’t have the structure, he doesn’t have the frame, and he doesn’t have explosive takedowns.”
Justin Gaethje fought for the title first at UFC 254, but lost to Khabib, who put on one of the most dominant championship display ever. UFC superstar and third-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Nate Diaz has been critical about Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje tapping out to opponents, and lacking basic jiu-jitsu skills.
Reacting to Gaethje’s claim, Diaz posted an Instagram story stating, “Bruh got triangle choked from mount. What he talkin bout.”
Justin Gaethje was particularly affronted by Diaz’s comments, and retaliated by posting a tweet on Twitter. The pair have gone back and forth in the past several times, although Gaethje is the one who’s instigated that fight repeatedly.
The human highlight reel has deliberated many times that Khabib is the best fighter in the world, and there’s nothing embarrassing in losing to him. He has belaboured anyone who thinks otherwise, which is exactly what he did with Diaz.
He said, ‘ I ain’t your bruh you jealous bitch @NateDiaz209’
