UFC welterweight king Kamaru Usman took to Instagram Stories to share a clip of Brandon Moreno predicting his title win
Brandon Moreno had a stunning 2020 that set him up for a title shot against then-flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo.
Following wins over Jussier Formiga and Brandon Royval, Moreno earned a title shot against Figueiredo. The brutal bloodbath took place at UFC 256, and after 5 rounds the fighters couldn’t be separated.
6 months later the pair had their rematch at UFC 263 in June 2021. In only the third round, Moreno submitted Figueiredo by means of a rear-naked choke to win the UFC flyweight title.
Elsewhere, UFC welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman took to his Instagram Stories to share a reel of Moreno predicting his title win. Usman captioned his story: “Vision.”
In the reel, Moreno can be seen saying:
“Let me say something. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, and maybe not the next month…Only one thing is true. I will be champion one day. I promise!”
Brandon Moreno’s predicted his title win in April 2017
The clip Kamaru Usman shared was after Brandon Moreno’s win against Dustin Ortiz on the 22nd of April 2017. That was the Mexican’s third fight in the UFC, and he was coming off wins over Louis Smolka and Ryan Benoit.
With a record of 13-3, Moreno faced Ortiz. A second-round submission win saw him also bag the Performance of the Night Bonus.
It was after this win that ‘The Assasin Baby’ predicted his title win. Just over 4 years it took.
