Kamaru Usman gave props to Rob Font for putting on a good show, but wasn’t impressed with his “best jab in the UFC” comments
Rob Font put on a clinical performance against Cody Garbrandt in the main event of UFC Fight Night 188. The number 3 ranked bantamweight outstruck Garbrandt with his crisp hooks and jabs, to move closer towards earning a title shot.
At the post-fight interview with Paul Felder, Font claimed that he had the best jab in the game.
“I have the best jab in the UFC, that’s for sure.”
Felder agreed to it saying, “You do have the best jab in the UFC.”
These comments didn’t sit well with UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. Despite giving props to Font on his excellent performance, the best jab exchange between Font and Felder got to him.
He wrote:
“Damn best jab? Lol chill @felderpaul beautiful performance @RobSFont wonderful fight by both men. Head up @Cody_Nolove #UFCVegas27“
Usman recently showed the world how powerful his jab could be, when he knocked out Jorge Masvidal, who has never been knocked out before in his UFC career.
A lot of critics who accused him of being boring were pretty much in shock when he hit Masvidal with a fierce right hand.
A fan then replied to Usman saying that ‘The Nigerian’ might even go to the bantamweight division to prove that he had the best jab in the UFC.
And surprisingly Usman replied tweeting, “Haha maybe if I cut off both legs.”
Usman is currently enjoying his time off, after successfully defending his title at UFC 261. At this point, it has almost become a regulatory win whenever Usman steps inside the Octagon.
As of now, he hasn’t been matched with an opponent.
