Kamaru Usman landed a massive right hand that handed Jorge Masvidal his first KO loss in the UFC
Usman successfully defended his welterweight title for the fourth time, when he beat Masvidal in front of his home crowd at Jacksonville, Florida.
Gamebred who had never been knocked out before in his UFC career, failed to evade a huge right hand from ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, as he knocked out and lay as stiff as a board, on the canvas.
Usman’s punch was the talking point of the day, since his striking is something which has been vastly underrated, and of course, underestimated.
In a recent interview with Brett Okamoto of ESPN, Usman talked about his KO on Masvidal, claiming that he had practised it on teammate Justin Gaethje once during a training session.
He then went on to exclaim how ‘The Highlight’ could take a punch.
Usman told Okamoto:
“When I was settin it up. It was one where I set up, I go down and up, quickly, which I’ve actually hit Justin Gaethje with. And, Justin Gaethje takes a punch better than anybody.”
Jake Paul and Kamaru Usman have been having a go at each other for a while. And yesterday Paul had posted an edited picture of himself putting Usman to sleep with the message, “Hi I’m Jake Paul and you’re watching Disney Channel.”
A cool and composed Usman replied asking Paul if the picture meant that he was ready to fight him in the octagon or if it was just for the sake of clout.
Usman’s tweet read:
“Does this picture confirm that you @jakepaul are willing to get inside the @ufc octagon and do this to me or are you just posting for clout?”
Nothing new in the life of ‘The Problem Child’. Once upon a time he was feuding with Disney stars and fellow YouTubers, and no he is beefing with combat sports athletes.
