Khabib Nurmagomedov and his family had an elite guest in their company as Kamaru Usman joined them for a traditional Eastern Europe meal
UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and his band of brothers had another champion in their midst earlier this week.
The Russians were joined by Kamaru Usman for a traditional Eastern European dish, plov. They are all spotted in a video seemingly recorded by UFC featherweight fighter Zubaira Tukhugov.
Usman is spotted sitting on the table amongst the others while Zubaira asks ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ if he is enjoying his plate of plov.
Plov, or pilaf, as a traditional rice dish which is made with some broth, or cooked in a variety of spices. Also clearly visible in the video are Usman Nurmagomedov and Ali Abdelaziz.
Ali is, of course, the agent of Khabib and Kamaru, while Usman is the cousin brother of the UFC lightweight champion.
Does Kamaru Usman ever fancy a fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov?
Kamaru is currently the UFC welterweight champion, a division where Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Khabib’s cousin brother, also fights.
Abubakar has a welterweight bout at UFC 260 coming up, where he faces Jared Gooden of the USA. But coming back to Kamaru, the Nigerian-American was asked if he would ever fight Khabib.
He shut down those talks when addressing if he would take on Conor McGregor for his welterweight belt.
“That’s something that we visit at that time, but me personally, that’s not something I would ever pursue. Absolutely not.”
And Abdelaziz, who is their agent, also denied the possibility of any fight between his two clients taking place.
So that’s it then. Usman vs Khabib is one fight us fans would probably never get to see, but at this point, people would just be content seeing The Eagle soar once again inside the octagon.
