Kamaru Usman sent out a stern warning to Jake Paul after the YouTube star claimed that he accepted Usman’s challenge.
It is safe to say that Jake Paul has been making more din than anybody else in the world right now.
The YouTube sensation’s recent victory over Ben Askren, in his third professional fight, has sent his confidence soaring over the roof. This was the first time he has beaten a combat sports athlete in his boxing career, but he is yet to face a professional boxer.
Amidst a plethora of callouts, his most notable one was his recent altercation with Daniel Cormier during UFC 261. The pair almost came to blows, and DC later revealed on Twitter that day that he would fight Paul.
Elsewhere, welterweight champ Kamaru Usman addressed Paul’s recent callouts in an interview with TMZ Sports. The Nigerian Nightmare revealed that the Internet Stars were making more noise than any other fighter in his division.
Usman seemed more interested in beating ‘the sh** out of Jake Paul’, than taking on the ever-avoiding Conor McGregor.
However, Paul responded to Usman’s callout tweeting that he was accepting his challenge, and asked Usman to request Dana White’s permission to box. Paul also promised Usman that it would be his biggest payday if he ever fought him.
Usman clearly wasn’t happy with Paul’s tweet. As he sent out a sound warning, asking ‘The Problem Child’ to stay on his lane.
Usman tweeted:
“Keep making your money young man, and stay on that side. I ain’t no Disney kid and I don’t play fighting.”
Kamaru Usman reigned as the undisputed king of the welterweight division, after he poleaxed Jorge Masvidal in the main event of UFC 261.
He has almost taken out everyone in the welterweight division, which gave rise to the question – Will the champ move to the middleweight division?
Usman addressed this at the post-fight press conference, where he said that he would very well like to move to the middleweight division, provided his dear friend and fellow Nigerian Israel Adesanya leaves the division.
The Nigerian Nightmare further revealed that he would love to have ‘Two Nigerians with belts’ rather than ‘one with two belts’.
